Tekele Productions was founded in 2017. It develops and produces films and serialized content for domestic and international audiences. Our aim is to produce high quality content in a professional and a sustainable manner. We are three in the company, namely Miia Haavisto, Julia Elomäki and Marja Pihlaja.

Miia has been producing films since 2011. Her films appear on the top ten list of the most popular domestic titles of all times in both fiction (Unknown Soldier) and documentary films (Lost Boys). She has shared her time with producing several first features successfully and joining forces with some of the most established film makers in Finland. Miia holds both a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2017 she established Tekele Productions. Miia is currently dividing her time between producing at Tekele and teaching the next generation of film makers at Aalto University as the Professor of Practice of Film and Television Production.

Julia has been with Tekele since 2018. Her extensive pipeline consists of both features and serialized content. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Aalto University and a Bachelor of Culture and Arts Degree from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. In addition to producing, she has also worked in theatrical distribution, the festival sector and most recently also been teaching BA film students at Aalto University. Julia is an active participant in the international network of film makers of her own generation.

Before starting at Tekele in 2018 Marja has produced several short films which have screened at festivals such as Visions du Réel, Karlovy Vary, Hot Docs, Aspen Shorts Fest and Nordisk Panorama among others. She is primarily interested in fiction, but may also include a documentary project in her slate. She holds a Masters degree from Aalto University and has since been selected to workshops such as Berlinale Talents, Nordic Talents, Rotterdam Lab, Berlinale Talent Project Market and EAVE Producers Workshop.
